The NDIS exists to support the independence and social and economic participation of people with disability, taking the place they deserve in the community, alongside everyone else. Self Management of an NDIS plan maximises the possibilities for that to happen.
The NDIS Self Management for Inclusion Peer Network is for people with disability and family members who want to use an NDIS plan to enable a person with disability to live their best life.
It’s a group where you can:
Jo Cross has several years’ experience supporting her daughter Rachael through mainstream schooling, where she was included alongside her peers.
Now, in adulthood, Rachael is part of a local pole dancing class, is developing her own small business and is looking forward to her mum moving out so she can live independently.
A Peer is someone with similar experience to you. A Peer Network is a connected group of peers.
A peer network is not a seminar. It’s a group that works when everyone contributes.
The facilitator is there to help the group stay on track, not to provide all the answers.
