This free Discovery Discussion Group aims to support families to move from theory to action, with discussions centring around the first step of Customised Employment – Discovery. Discovery focuses on finding out about the person through both conversation and observation.
During the Discussion Group, families will have the opportunity to connect with other families; unpack the Discovery Process, ask questions, brainstorm possibilities and develop strategies to support successful employment.
We will be joined by Brittany Ruiz, Job Mentor to a young man, currently undertaking the Customised Employment approach.
"I’m Britt, a 26-year-old Art Mentor and Discovery Facilitator and Job Coach for a young man. The process of Discovery has been a new, exciting and an extremely insightful stepping stone to learn about. It’s been about digging deeper, being curious, purposeful, and exploring with the Job Seeker, to develop meaningful opportunities for a successful employment journey which aligns with the person, their decisions and goals.” Guest speaker, Brittany Ruiz
The Discussion Group is a great opportunity to ask questions you may have or seek support to overcome any barriers you may be facing!
We invite family members, who have an interest in Customised Employment for their family member.
Prior knowledge of the discovery process is helpful and to make the most of the discussion we encourage families to get started on discovery before this group starts.
